Ismene Festalis, also known as the "Peruvian daffodil," is a bulbous perennial plant that produces large, trumpet-shaped flowers in shades of yellow and white. The flowers bloom in late spring and early summer, and are known for their sweet fragrance. Ismene Festalis bulbs are easy to grow and care for, making them a great choice for both experienced and novice gardeners. Festalis bulbs can be planted in a variety of soils and conditions, but prefer well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. Festalis are also drought tolerant, which makes them a great choice for low maintenance gardens. Ismene Festalis bulbs are hardy in zones 8-10 and can be stored in a cool dry place over winter and replanted in spring. Add some beauty and fragrance to your garden with Ismene Festalis bulbs! In addition to their beautiful flowers, Ismene Festalis also have attractive, long, narrow leaves that provide a nice contrast to the flowers. They typically reach a height of 1-2 feet and spread of 6-8 inches. They look great when planted in groups or as borders, and can also be grown in pots or containers. The bulbs can be planted in the fall, allowing them to establish roots before the winter. They will then emerge from the ground in the spring, with flowers appearing a few weeks later. Ismene Festalis is also known to be deer-resistant, making them a great option for gardens where deer are a problem. They also attract hummingbirds and butterflies to the garden, providing an additional source of entertainment for gardeners.
