Richie McCaw - Chasing Great (Blu-ray, 2016) Region B - NEW+SEALED
| He never let his father win the backyard games of cricket. He damaged his first coachs ribs without realizing it. There were signs very early in the life of Richie McCaw that this very ordinary kid might have more determination than most. Richie had no idea of the immense success that his extraordinary drive and his All Black dream would lead to. His story is testament to the rewards of hard work, passion, single-minded determination and his life-long philosophy of leaving nothing in the tank ever. This intimate documentary follows Richies final 365 days leading the All Blacks, as the most capped rugby player of all time attempts to pull-off his most ambitious goal yet to end his career by becoming the first person to captain back-to-back World Cup wins. With surprising openness the film dives into the mind of this lite sportsman, who has spent the later part of his career perfecting the mental strength needed to perform to so expertly in the face of extraordinary pressure. We witness the world of high performance sport through the eyes of this legendary player, who still sees himself as an ordinary guy from small town New Zealand. |
