Encaustic requires no painting experience and is suitable for beginners and advanced users alike. It's that easy: insert the painting iron and heat the piston. To apply the paint, hold the iron horizontally with the painting surface facing up. Then melt the wax paint on the painting iron surface. The wax has the right consistency when it runs around the painting iron surface like cold oil and does not bubble up. Then the paint can be applied to the paper.
