The deeper walls (vs. the standard Round) give you more vertical room for slow braises with bone-in cuts, layered casseroles, big batches of stock, deep-frying with a lower splatter zone, and overnight beans. Same heirloom enameled cast iron construction Le Creuset has been crafting in France since 1925.
