- ABOUT FACTOR55 00250-92: Originally developed to meet the needs of off-road racers who wanted the speed of a hook and functionality of closed system winching, the low-profile UltraHook features an industry-first closed system shackle mount hole machined into the body of the hook and installs in minutes. A latch pin, which is stored in the hook’s body, can lock the safety latch securely into place for a true Closed Loop System
- ABOUT CLOSED SYSTEM WINCHING: Is a winching technique using rigging comprised entirely of closed link hardware. The non-closable opening of common winch hooks prevent hooks from qualifying as secure closed links. Poorly constructed sheet metal safety latches of hooks do not qualify as a secure means to contain loads and are prone to failure, especially during momentary slack conditions where winch loads often shift and apply high forces to these weak non-structural latches.
- ABOUT THE EPDM RUBBER PADS: Integrated finger grips promote proper “Hook Up” orientation. UltraHook is the first winch hook that can be stored neatly against a winch’s fairlead protecting it from a metal-to-metal connection, thanks to EPDM rubber pads, which also eliminate the UltraHook from rattling.
- TECHNICHAL SPECS: EPDM rubber pads for fairlead protection, and a finger grip feature that promotes proper “Hook Up” orientation; also prevents rattling / Can be used with line diameters up to 3/8” / 3” thick when folded flat / Maximum Load: 16,000 lbs. / Ultimate Strength Hook Throat Opening: 31,000 pounds / Ultimate Strength – Shackle Pin Mount: 48,000 pounds / Weight: 32 oz / Engineered, Tested, and Made in USA.
- IMPORTANT FEATURES: Lightweight – Precision CNC machined 7000 series Military Grade Aluminum / Max opening deformation clearly laser engraved / Safety latch with integrated latch lock pin allows for true closed system winching / Includes 5/8” diameter aerospacegrade 6AI-4V grade V titanium doubleshear pin
- EASTY TO INSTALL: Easy-to-install shackle mount with a hole machined into the hook’s body. Shackle pin mounting hole accepts screw pins from common ¾” and soft shackles up to 1/2” / Use either as a conventional hook or a shackle mount / No rope splicing required – double shear pin design accepts rope/cable eyes, for use with either steel or synthetic winch rope
