Pakkawood (also known as Staminawood, Colorwood, Dymondwood and compreg) is a combination of hard wood layers and resins fused together under intense heat and pressure. Multiple layers combined to create very unique grain finish plywood that is inert, stronger than normal wood, more moisture resistant and will not warp. It will last longer and overall look better, maintaining a long lasting natural high gloss finish, and each Pakkawood model is never quite the same as the next, with each layer providing a different layer of coloring and grain patterns. Fixed-Blade knives feature a Full-Tang, that is the material of the blade actually extends in a solid piece throughout the entire handle of the knife. There are many different types of Tang, but the reason this is done is to increase the sturdiness of the knife. The blade is much more secure and can handle more pressure when reinforced while also balancing the knife with additional weight.
