Can God Try?

"John Piwetz describes two very different visions of the sovereignty of God - one in which all that occurs fulfills God's own prior will and purpose, and another in which God cannot guarantee that what he wants will come to pass, yet he tries with all of his might to make it the best that he can. When you understand the difference in these two views of divine sovereignty, you will begin to see the importance of the book in your hands... I invite you to consider the careful and clear argumentation that John has put forth in this wise and winsome slim volume. There is much here to challenge prevailing views, but much also to encourage hope and faith. May God be pleased to use this book greatly for his glory and our good." Bruce WareProfessor of Christian Theology Southern Baptist Theological Seminary"This book is a down-to-earth primer on understanding the sovereignty of God in salvation. Tomes have been written on this topic, but John cuts through the clutter to provide a helpful and compelling resource about the character and nature of God in our common redemption. Enjoy this book as it shapes your view of God and brings extreme gratitude to your relationship with God." Dan DumasAuthor of Live Smart: Preparing for the Future God Wants for You"Can God Try? offers a much-needed perspective today. It demolishes the diminutive man-made god that has masqueraded in the modern church as the God of Scripture. With robust and thorough treatment of Scripture, John Piwetz makes the case for a God who is all-powerful and absolutely sovereign. More than a theological treatment, Can God Try? is a hopeful melody to souls weighed down by the overwhelming problems of the age. Having served alongside John in pastoral leadership at Crossroads, I know that these truths represent more than a theological debate for him; they are the bedrock truth of how he leads others to grow in Christ. This book is must-read material for those who have wondered if God is capable of rescuing them."
