In the first half of the last century, between 1930 and 1950, Benlee was a big name. The famous boxers battle with: "Bomber Brown" Joe Louis, "Jersey" Joe Walcott and Rocky Marciano, three heavy champions in succession, all of them were in the ring with Benlee boxing gloves and Benlee sports pants. Other champions such as Jake "The Raging Bull" La Motta, "Sugar" Ray Robinson and Floyd Patterson also wore Benlee. Benlee began producing boxing equipment in the 1930s, but withdrew from his business in the 1960s. Punch GmbH wants to relive the tradition and in memory of Rocky Marciano, the best boxer of all time who died in 1969, she attached his name to "her" brand: BenleeRockyMarciano.
