The Salomon Polar Pole is everything you need, and nothing you don't. Salomon has added a dual-material grip for better hand purchase without straying too far from the simple, durable formula. An aluminum shaft, an interchangeable all-mountain basket, and a clean adjustable strap make this a strong everyday all-mountain pole for skiers who want a bit more comfort than the most basic option.
Why we like it:
The dual-material grip is the real upgrade here. It uses a softer overmold across the contact zones for better feel through gloves, paired with a firmer base for structure. It's a noticeably more comfortable hand position than what you get on the entry-tier Polar Access.
Highlights:
The shaft is 18mm aluminum, the same as the Polar Access but with dual-material grip components added for a more refined feel. The grip is shaped to work for all genders, which Salomon calls out specifically in their copy. A standard adjustable strap, a standard tip, and the interchangeable all-mountain basket round things out.
